The walking trails in the National Park are something that no visitor should miss. The Burleigh Heads National Park is full of volcanic columns that extend to the seashore. The local tribal people of this area were known as Kombumerri people. They had named this rocky headland as ‘Jellurgal’. You can watch Australian brush-turkey and its nesting mounds. Water dragons, seabirds and migrating whales add to the attraction of the Burleigh Heads National Park. The viewing platform had been provided even with a facility for wheelchairs for assisting disabled visitors.

Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival 2010
The 2010 Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival will be held on the last weekend of June 2010, from Friday the 25th till Sunday the 27th. The scarecrows will all be located along one circular trail. This trail can be walked (full day) or be visited by car or .... on a harley davidson. You enjoy the dozens of scarecrows, count them for the Scarecrow competition, you enjoy the views, the mountain atmosphere and dozens of shops, cafes and galleries. Possibly a trolleybus tour will be availalbe as well. More information: call John 0428-451106. The trail can be accessed anywhere, but it is recommended to visit the Visitors Information Centre first. The latest information will be available and competition forms can be picked up as well.
