The Gold Coast is located in the southeast corner of the state of Queensland. It's famous for its subtropical climate and its beautiful beaches. There are five major theme parks in the Gold Coast and several smaller ones. If you love movies and cartoons, or thrilling rides or lots of water there's a park for you. If you like animals on land or water there's a park for you. There's even a park for the visitor who would like to relax and meditate and commune with nature.

All of the parks are conveniently located and easily accessible by the tourist shuttle service or by car. If you drive, parking is free at all the theme parks. The parks usually open at 10:00 am and it's a good idea to be there when they open, especially during the busy season when kids are on holiday from school.

There are ticket booths at various locations where you can purchase tickets for all the theme parks but most people who have been there and done it say it's better to purchase tickets online in advance. Trying to hit all of the parks or even some of them and fit the park visits into a larger itinerary and budget can be complicated.
